Question 1. Is AbleRoad only for people with disabilities?
Answer: AbleRoad is for everyone: people with disabilities, friends, family members, caregivers, and others. Anyone can write a review.


Question 2. How do I create an AbleRoad account?
Answer: There are two options for creating an account. Under the first option you to register using your Facebook account. Under the second option you create your own AbleRoad account.


Question 3. How do I download the AbleRoad Apps?
Answer: Click on the icon in the upper right hand corner of the home page. This brings you directly to the iTunes page for the AbleRoad App. You can also access the App directly via iTunes or in the Apple Store.


Question 4. When I am reading reviews, what reviews are on the left and what reviews are on the right?
Answer: Yelp reviews are on the left and AbleRoad reviews are on the right.


Question 5. Why is there no accessibility information or reviews in my area?
Answer: AbleRoad is a newly launched empowering, crowd-sourcing Site/Apps. Similar to Youtube and Wikipedia, AbleRoad needs people like you to populate it with content.


Question 6. What if I cannot locate a property on AbleRoad, but can locate it on Yelp?
Answer: Add a qualifier or more information to the location search box entitled [Where], such as a street name, part of town or area of the city, for example add "financial district". You can also add additional information like part of the name or more specific information about the business in the [Searching for] box.


Question 7. What if I cannot locate the property on Yelp or AbleRoad?
Answer: Add the property to Yelp using the following link www.yelp.com/writeareview/newbiz and then it will come up on AbleRoad.


Question 8. How does the star rating work?
Answer: First, select the tab that you would like to rate: Mobility, Hearing, Sight or Cognitive. Then give 5 stars for the highest rating and 1 star for the poorest rating.


Question 9. What is the thumbs up for?
Answer: The thumbs up for each review allows you to like a particular review and rate the reviewer. A user can look at a reviewer's badge level to help verify the reviewer as a trusted source for their reviews and content.


Question 10. What are the different badge levels?
Answer: There are five badge levels. these are awarded based on the number of thumbs up a reviewer gets.

Question 11. What do the star ratings mean?
Answer:

  • No star: (e.g., the category is “restrooms” and you never visited the restrooms)
  • One star: Very poor or non-existent
  • Two stars: Poor/borderline
  • Three stars: Adequate, acceptable, average
  • Four stars: Better than average
  • Five: Excellent


Question 12. What if I want to be more specific than "3 Stars" for Accessible Parking (for example), when writing a review?
Answer: Add specific information in the large text box above the Access Rating categories.


Question 13. If I do not fill in all of the rating selections because they do not apply to my experience, will leaving them blank affect the overall score?
Answer: The overall rating is tabulated automatically; unrated sections are not counted in the overall score.


Question 14. Can I upload photos and videos?
Answer: To add or upload a photo click the [Add your Picture] box directly below the Access Rating section on the left hand side. At this time only photos can be added to reviews. We plan on offering a video option in the future.

Answer: Use [Contact Us] link, at the bottom of each page.
